Special Activities

In addition to the usual activities at the Playgroup we invite other people to get involved and provide a service to add to the children’s learning experiences.

Every other Thursday the children go on an adventure with yoga led by Deborah Maddison.  Yoga is taught in the form a story encouraging the children to bend and stretch like the characters which could be animals, pirates or aliens, to name but a few. If you would like more details about Adventures in Yoga please contact Deborah at her website adventuresinyoga.vpweb.co.uk

Fortnightly, on a Tuesday whatever the weather we have “Red Squirrel Forest School” with Lucy Holland, a qualified forest school teacher.  We have great fun looking at nature, den building, rope climbing, fire building …… We toast marshmallows and drink hot chocolate. Yummy !

We also have local story teller, Melanie Pitt.   She brings her guitar once a fortnight, and entertains the children with exciting stories and songs.

Sally holds  ‘sing up’ sessions, these are variety of rhyme, action and counting songs, using
puppets and musical instruments to entertain the children.
