Special Activities

In addition to the usual activities at the Playgroup we invite other people to get involved and provide a service to add to the children’s learning experiences.

Every Tuesday in the last half an hour of the session the children go on an adventure with yoga led by Deborah Maddison.  Yoga is taught in the form a story encouraging the children to bend and stretch like the characters which could be animals, pirates or aliens, to name but a few. If you would like more details about Adventures in Yoga please contact Deborah at her website adventuresinyoga.vpweb.co.uk

The police, ambulance and fire brigade pop in every now and again to show the children what their job entails. The highlight for the children is being allowed to sit in the fire engine or police car as well as try their uniforms on!

We have also had the help of a local story teller, Melanie Pitt, who brings her guitar once a fortnight, and entertains the children with exciting stories and songs.

Every Wednesday in the last half an hour of the session Sally Barter holds a
‘sing up’ and uses rhyme, action and counting songs,
puppets and musical instruments to entertain the children.
